Syed Masood, MD, graduated from Kakatiya Medical College in India. After moving to the United States in the 1980s, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital and Methodist Hospital in New York in 1991. He went on to complete his fellowship in Infectious Diseases at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in 1993. He started and is continuing his practice in Raleigh, NC since January 1997.

He evaluates and treats a broad spectrum of Infectious diseases, such as Skin and soft tissue infections, Wound infections, abscesses, osteomyelitis, septic arthritis, endocarditis, bacterial and fungal infections, sexually transmitted infections, like syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, herpes infections, genital warts, balanitis, non-sexually transmitted GYN infections, urinary tract infections, gastrointestinal infections, pneumonia, meningitis, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and related opportunistic infections (evaluation and follow-up of their immune status, resistant studies, and modification of treatment plans). Viral infections such as Influenza (Flu), and related complications, and pertussis (Whooping cough).

Other infections such as Tick borne infections, such as Rocky Mountain spotted fever, Lyme disease, parasitic infections, advice on travel medicine, vaccinations, etc. are also evaluated and treated.

Naseem Masood, MD, FCCP, graduated from Osmania Medical College in India in 1982. After moving to the United States in 1984 with her husband, she completed her Internal Medicine residency at Bronx Lebanon Hospital in 1991 and obtained board certification in Internal Medicine. She went on to complete her fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in 1996 and board certification in those fields and Sleep Medicine boards later, as well. She started and is continuing her practice in Raleigh, NC since January 1997.

She offers consultations and management for pulmonary diseases such as chronic cough, chest pain, hemoptysis (blood in the sputum), congestion, excess mucus production, wheezing in the chest, extrinsic allergies like dust pollen, grass, trees, etc. causing shortness of breath, COPD, Tobacco dependency, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, Sickle cell disease affecting lungs, Pulmonary Hypertension, pneumonia, pneumonitis, unusual lung infections, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, occupational lung diseases, chronic respiratory failure, oxygen requirements, oxygen dependency, pleural diseases, emphysema, asbestosis, pulmonary TB, fungal infections, lung cancer, mesothelioma etc.

Pulmonary function tests (PFTs), 6 minute walk test, Echocardiograms are done on-site and arrangement of home oxygen, nebulizer machine and the medications, artificial home ventilators for chronic respiratory failure are done at our office with the help of DME companies.

She also offers consultation and management sleep-related breathing disorders such as various types of sleep apnea, insomnias, parasomnias, shift work disorder, circadian rhythm disorders, restless leg syndrome, and Narcolepsy.

Sleep studies are done on-site and necessary CPAP therapy is arranged promptly by the office.
